How to picking a lock?

Preparations before lock picking: Gather your lock picking kit, which typically includes tension tools, various shapes of picks, and possibly a handle or torque wrench. Additionally, identify the type of lock by observing it to determine its classification (such as pin tumbler lock, wafer lock, etc.). For beginners, pin tumbler locks are the most common and relatively easier to start with.

Apply Tension:

Insert the tension tool into the keyhole and apply steady, clockwise pressure (for most locks) to keep the lock pins stable.

Insert Pick:

Choose a pick suitable for the lock's pin arrangement and insert it gently next to the tension tool, avoiding contact.

Locate Binding Pin:

Move the pick gently to identify the pin that feels more resistant. This is the binding pin to be lifted.

Lift Binding Pin:

Apply slight upward force on the binding pin with the pick while maintaining tension. Adjust tension as needed for balance.

Repeat for Other Pins:

Once the binding pin clicks, briefly release tension to reset, then repeat the process for each subsequent binding pin until all are lifted.

Unlock the Lock:

When all pins are lifted, you'll feel less resistance. Smoothly turn the tension tool to open the lock.
